Reid Park Zoo:

While you might see plenty of wildlife in and around Tubac, the Reid Park Zoo let’s you travel from South America to the Asian rainforest, and then to the African savannah all in one day. You can explore beautiful habitats housing hundreds of exotic animals from around the world. The Reid Park Zoo is a hidden gem, nestled in the center of Tucson, and is the perfect place to enjoy time outside while discovering the wonders of wildlife.

Founded in 1965 with a collection of birds, prairie dogs, farm animals, and a few squirrel monkeys, the Zoo has expanded to a 17-acre campus that houses hundreds of animals in naturalistic exhibits and annually hosts nearly 500,000 visitors.  Their mission is “to encourage human commitment to the conservation of biological diversity and to provide educational and fun experiences for visitors of all ages.”
