2012 promises to gift us with chaos and opportunity. In this workshop, we’ll explore the wisdom of our bodies and psyches to discover our personal challenges and devise strategies to transform them into personal growth. We will set positive intentions for the New Year using the deep meditation of indigenous-style dance.

On Wednesday evening, we will use free-expression dance and shamanic drum journey techniques to explore our own inner world in search of questions, challenges, answers and strategies. No dance experience, talent or athletic ability necessary. Physical challenges and limited mobility welcomed. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes…or dance barefoot. Bring a journal, a pen and a blindfold.

On Thursday evening, we will set our intentions with a Native American-style dance meditation. In indigenous cultures, dance is not a performance but a meditation for the dancer. Our goal is to enter a group trance with the purpose of creating personal healing, a positive paradigm shift and world peace. Ceremonial dress is appropriate.

By Marsha Scarbrough

Medicine Dance is just fabulous. I couldn’t put it down. Rarely have I read anything that gets as close to the whole truth about health, disease and relationships. Christiane Northrup, author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom, The Wisdom of Menopause, Mother-Daughter Wisdom

Marsha Scarbrough, author of Medicine Dance, is a freelance journalist who has had over 75 articles published in national magazines.
