About Floating Stone Inn & Aqua Spa
A note from Linda Ellinor
Owner, Floating Stone Inn & Aqua Spa
After years of working in corporate America as a project manager and organizational development consultant and trainer (the late David Bohm’s “Dialogue” was my specialty), I decided to move to Tubac, AZ, a small artists’ village with lots of history, and launch the Floating Stone Inn & Aqua Spa. My vision is to develop a unique, yet sustainable, property where people can escape, relax, and reconnect with their deeper self and with each other. “Slowing down, reflecting deeply, and learning to live more resiliently” is the experience I hope each guest will have.
The Vision & Mission of the Floating Stone:
- To bring eco-living and wellness together to create a sustainable world…
- To provide education and inspiration within a nurturing, supportive environment for living in balance with nature and community…

Property History
The Floating Stone Inn & Aqua Spa was known as the Anza Inn and Posada Linda. What was the Anza Inn is now the Floating Stone Inn. What was Posada Linda is now the Floating Stone Casitas. These properties are now open. Until our grand opening in the fall of 2010, only the Casitas are open for reservations For a further description of these accommodations, click here to see our slideshow on Casitas. The Aqua Spa
The Aqua Spa, opening during the second half of 2010, draws its inspiration from the many hot-spring spas scattered throughout Northern and Southern California. The Floating Stone Aqua Spa will feature 5 unique pools consisting of 3 hot tubs at varying temperatures, a Watsu (water-massage) pool, and a lap pool. There will also be a cold plunge, a cold bucket shower, and in a future phase a steam room. Guests will be able to rent one of the 3 hot tubs for private use, customize the water with various water treatments (herbal and flower essences) lasting up to one hour, and pre-arrange for body treatments — all inside the private setting.
Guests will experience the Aqua Spa pool circuit of relaxation and rejuvenation by going from one type of hot or cold feature to another. Just as in the Swedish tradition, where one might raise one’s body temperature in the sauna and then rapidly lower it for increased circulation by jumping into a cold body of water or rolling in the snow, guests will be able to sit in a stone-lined hot tub and then take a cold plunge, or sit in the steam room followed by an invigorating bucket dump of cold water. The Japanese elements woven throughout the spa area adds an ambiance of spiritual renewal.
Water head and neck massage will be available in the Watsu pool. Its body-temperature water will allow guests unlimited relaxation time. Appointments can be made for water massage, which increases body mobility while offering a complete “letting-go” experience.
Event Center
In the Event Center, guests are able to attend various educational offerings, including the “Wisdom Series,” “The Art of Eco-Living” and two workshops for greening one’s business or work environment, “Greening Your Business” and “Creating Green Teams”. These are briefly described below:
Our Green Workshops are designed to give guests an in-depth experience of green living and working. The “Art of Eco-Living” program is for individuals who have become inspired to take steps towards a healthier green life-style. The Greening your Business program is for small and medium-sized business owners who want to green their operations for cost reduction and enhanced profitability.
The “Creating Green Teams” program is for those working in large organizations who want to join with others in moving their work environments towards sustainable and ecological operations.
Beginning with the “Wisdom of the Body,” guests are able to tune into the healing available energetically and naturally. They will also learn better healthcare without reliance on synthetic products, which are high in toxins and/or chemicals. In the “Wisdom of the Heart,” guests will learn how to tap their inner essence in ways that bring heightened integration and intuition to their lives. In the “Wisdom of Relationships,” guests will learn how to tap into all of their inner aspects and those of the other for healing and for deepening connections with their intimate others, friends, family members, and those with whom they work. And, finally, in “Wisdom of Community,” guests will learn a variety of skill-building practices for leading “community circles,” which can move those in their neighborhoods or places of residence toward more green, resilient community lifestyles.
Go to our Programs / Events page for dates and more on these programs.
We are currently seeking workshops, programs, and events from others that tie to our vision and mission of wellness and eco-living. If you have a workshop, program, or event you would like to sponsor you can find out how to submit your offering by clicking here.
The Events Center will also accommodate special events such as weddings, business/organizational meetings, family reunions, etc., as well be available for those wishing to offer public workshops that have wellness, personal growth, artistic, or ecological components. Please contact us to reserve this facility; it can accommodate up to 20 people and includes a full kitchen, fireplace, and a sun porch.
